UN Votes for New Sanctions on North Korea
  • 6 years ago
On Friday, the U.N. Security Council imposed new sanctions on North Korea for its intercontinental ballistic missile test on November 29. The sanctions reportedly seek to limit the rogue nation's access to refined petroleum products and crude oil as well as its earnings from workers abroad. The sanctions, which were approved by a 15-0 vote, attempt to ban nearly 90 percent of refined petroleum product exports to North Korea by capping them at 500,000 barrels a year.
