Sachin Tendulkar’s debut speech at the Rajya Sabha on Thursday didn’t go as planned as uproar over PM Narendra Modi’s recent remarks on his predecessor Dr. Manmohan Singh forced an adjournment of the house till Friday. Sachin hadn’t manage to initiate discussion on “Right to Play and the future of sports in India” when the day’s proceedings were called off. Nominated to the Rajya Sabha in April 2012, this was to be the first time Sachin would speak at the house.
