In a new interview with the The Hollywood Reporter, actor Val Kilmer discussed his two-year battle with throat cancer. The 'Top Gun' star explains that his faith as a Christian Scientist has helped him deal with his diagnosis. Kilmer goes on to add that he acknowledges he used to be "too serious" and is now approaching life with a lighter touch, saying, "I'd get upset when things like Oscars and recognition failed to come my way.
