Could We See 'The Office' Return to NBC? Media reports suggest that NBC is already looking for a new boss of the show's beloved Scranton, PA, branch as 'The Office's' original head honcho, Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell), won't be returning. If the series were to return, it would likely feature a mixture of old and new cast members. NBC wouldn't confirm any reports but president Bob Greenblatt has said in the past that he'd welcome a revival. I’ve talked to Greg [Daniels] four times over the past few years. It’s always, ‘Maybe someday, but not now’. There is certainly an open invitation, but we don’t have anything happening right now. If he wants to do it, I would do it. NBC recently saw success with a revival of "Will & Grace," which earned multiple Golden Globe nominations.
