Yamaha Considering Electric Two-Wheelers For India - DriveSpark

Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha is evaluating electric two-wheelers for the Indian market. This was revealed by a top executive of the company. Currently, Yamaha retails a range of motorcycles and scooters in India, and now, the company is looking to invest in power units and batteries for electric vehicles (EV).
Yamaha is also conducting a study to evaluate if the electric vehicles could completely replace the currently sold internal combustion engine models in the country. Yamaha Motor Research and Development India MD, Yasuo Ishihara said, "We are at present conducting a feasibility study in this area (electric two-wheelers)."
