Just five short years ago, Macedonia was less than a blip on the radar of most climbers. Then photos and videos of the boulder-strewn hillsides surrounding the Southern town of Prilep began to emerge. A strong local climbing scene was discovered and an influx of international climbers joined them to add hundreds of problems to Prilep's granite blocs. Philippe Ribière has visited the region numerous times, adding his own climbs to this burgeoning hotspot. In this video, he once again returns to Prilep along with fellow Frenchman Loic Gaidioz. The pair sample some of the finest lines that the area has to offer and reflect on the benefits that climbing can offer a region such as this.
