Eighteen year old Janet Devlin had very little singing experience before The X Factor, only singing in her school, pubs and local talent shows. Janet had previously uploaded videos on to her Official channel on YouTube on a regular basis, which have now reached 10.5 Million total views Worldwide.

THE X-Factor
Janet performed Your Song by Elton John during the audition stage of the competition. For the first live show Devlin sung Fix You, which was enough to convince Rowland that she deserved a place in the next live show.

Janet received the highest consecutive public vote out of all the 2011 contestants
Following an excellent run of live performances, week 8 saw Janet performing MMMBop and Under The Bridge, which landed her in the bottom two against Misha B. Janet performed Chasing Cars for survival, but was voted out of the competition by judges Tulisa and Louis Walsh. Rowland refused to vote, so the majority vote was used.

At the end of the series, it was revealed that Janet had received the highest number of votes for the first four weeks of the series, which was the highest consecutive public vote out of all the 2011 contestants.

DEBUT ALBUM
News stories soon began to break out that Janet was being offered recording contracts within 35 minutes of being eliminated from the show. Janet has been in the studio writing and recording her debut album with Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer Eliot Kennedy and his team.

Heavily influenced by alternative artists such as City and Colour and Devendra Banhart, Janet has recently been co-writing new tracks for her debut album with Internationally acclaimed writers including Newton Faulkner, Joshua Radin and Jack Savoretti.
