Shelly Levy and Rotem Frimer are the duo behind the phenomenon that is "Shelly and Rotem". Subtle and surprising sonic additions to a guitar/keyboard core create an innovative sound world, with a feel that is part indie, part minimalism.
Collaborating since 2012, after meeting at Alon High School of the Arts, they have developed a repertoire of hauntingly beautiful original songs. Their mutual love of the song "Flume" by Bon Iver first brought them together, and they now draw from a vast stylistic palette that combines the folk vibe of Joni Mitchell, Radiohead's harmony, the lyrical sadness of The Smiths and James Blake's beats.
But the soul of Shelly and Rotem's sound is in the interplay between their unique voices and their instrumental innovations. In August 2013 Shelly and Rotem released their first EP, including three original songs from their full-length show (first presented in January 2013), produced by the respected musician Tom Darom, whose collaborations have included musicians such as Asaf Avidan, Efrat Gosh, and many more.
