Tara Stacey is a singer/songwriter based in Co. Galway. Switching between acoustic guitar and baritone ukulele, Tara captivates audiences with her lyrical playfulness, endearing performances, and heartbreaking honesty. Tara came to national prominence in June 2012, when she entered Tom Dunne's Newstalk competition to find Ireland's best singer/songwriter. From over a thousand entrants she got through to the final three with her song "Candles". Her unique voice and style deliver songs about life and love that never fail to raise a smile. Having played such festivals as Body and Soul, Electric Picnic, Cambridge Folk Festival, Galway Fringe Festival, 10 Days in Dublin Festival, and Portarlington French Festival, and performing regularly on folk circuits, Tara is making a name for herself in both Ireland and the U.K. with her debut E.P. "Old Flames". This year sees Tara back in the studio, working on new material with more complex instrumentation, and also working with Gingerbeard House, a collaborative project with such artists as Steven Sharpe, Tracy Bruen, and Steve Bennett.
