THE BLUE SIDE BAND: The inner need to create an original song became a habit and then the songs themselves became the reason for the bands gathering. The Blue Side Band came together in 2010 in order to play the songs that Sotiris Nikolaou wrote. During the rehearsals the band developed its distinctive musical style & sound and started working on new material. The band's debut Ep was released in 2013 and it was followed by a number of concerts and got some enthusiastic feedback from the press. Now they are in the studio working on their next full album release.
Οι Blue Side Band ξεκίνησαν από το προσωπικό project του Σωτήρη Νικολάου και μέσα από τις δημιουργικές διαδικασίες εξελίχθηκε σε ένα πενταμελές σχήμα με ρίζες σε διαφορετικούς μουσικούς χώρους. Σήμερα η μπάντα αποτελείται από τους Σωτήρη Νικολάου (ακ. κιθάρες, φωνητικά, φυσαρμόνικα), Αντώνη Δούνια (τύμπανα), Τασσος Κακογιάνης (Κόντρα μπάσο & ηλ. μπάσο), Πέτρος Παπαβασιλείου (πιάνο, ηλ. κιθάρες) και Αργύρη Βασιλείου (ηλ. κιθάρες).
Ο ήχος της μπάντας είναι βαθιά επηρεασμένος από την songwriting αισθητική της αμερικανικής υπαίθρου από τα mid 40s ως τα 70s, αλλά ταυτόχρονα αντλεί έμπνευση από διάφορα πιο σύγχρονα μουσικά είδη.
