Freeriding is all about showing up, scoping a line and then shredding, right? Well, not exactly. As you will see in the first episode of the new series of POWdcast, there is much more to it than that. Our hero and host, Julien Lopez takes us to Courmayeur in northern Italy for the first stop on the Freeride World Tour. The riders are all there but the conditions aren't. Lack of snow and some nasty fog make scouting lines difficult and Julien spends a tense afternoon on the top of the mountain trying to figure out a winning descent, or maybe just a safe one.

Watch all the planning and preparation that goes into putting together a successful run then see Julien try to bring it all to fruition. It's only the first comp of the year but things are already feeling tense. Stay tuned for the next stop of the tour as the riders head to Chamonix and hopefully better conditions.
