PRESENTED BY HERNANDO SUAREZ

The Spiracles is fresh, dynamic, indie pop band that lingers between melancholic and happiness and seeks to express emotions through sensitive lyrics and sounds that often invite you to the dance floor. The band is formed by Romina Roggero (vocals), Luis Rodríguez (guitar, synths, bass and programming) and Enrique Medina (guitar, synths and programming).

Influenced by bands such as The Smiths, The Field Mice, REM, Velvet Undergournd, Cocteau Twins, Slowdive and The Byrds among others, released its acclaimed first single ‘Fireflies' followed by the EP 'How Things Went Well When I Met You' under the indie label Saint Marie Records on Jan 2012, this EP features the collaboration of Aracelli Fernandez on vocals and it is a perfect preface to The Spiracles’ first LP 'Last Night I Dreamt About You'.

This album, released on November 2014 by its own label Parakeet Records, includes ten new songs and was produced and recorded by Luis Rodriguez at his own home studio and mixed and mastered by Carlos Suárez at Temple Of Sound in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Musically, The Spiracles have polished and expanded their musical approach, but they still preserve their stately and uplifting sound. 'Beneath A Sky Of Stars', a beautiful gem co-written with Anna Bouchard from Austin’s shoegaze band Drowner, is a minor key whirlwind which calls to mind 'The Sundays' and 'Cocteau Twins'. The band is currently working on new songs developing a new sound but without leaving the sweetness of pop.
