Родившийся в Копенгагене, Алекс решил всерьез посвятить свою жизнь музыке и перебрался в Лондон, где познакомился с гитаристом Томми Шиином (Tommy Sheen), с которым их связала крепкая дружба и сотрудничество. К своим 27 годам, Алекс Варгас уже имеет в послужном списке выступления на крупнейших фестивалях мира, в числе которых: Great Escape Festival, Glastonbury, T in The Park, V Festival, SXSW и другие. Варгас успел плодотворно посотрудничать с одним из самых востребованных трансовых коллективов мира – Above & Beyond, приняв участие в записи альбома и отправившись в совместное турне. Билеты на его концерты в Великобритании раскупаются моментально, в течение 24 часов после анонсирования. Причиной тому: обаяние, запоминающиеся песни и, прежде всего,невероятно сильный блюзовый голос, благодаря которому, иностранная пресса удостоила Варгаса восторженных сравнений с легендарными соул-певцами прошлого – Стивом Уинвудом (Steve Winwood) и Робертом Палмером (Robert Palmer). В настоящее время Варгас работает над своим дебютным сольным альбомом, который должен выстрелить уже в этом году.
Во время тура Земфиры по России зимой и весной 2016 года в первых шести городах тура Алекс Варгас выступил на разогреве у певицы.
One of the most intriguing, inventive acts to emerge over the last year, Alex Vargas looks set to storm 2016 with his groundbreaking alternative pop, evident on his incredible new EP ‘Giving Up The Ghost’, which brings together slick, left-field production with jaw-dropping vocals and unashamedly huge melodies, culminating in a body of work that resonates effortlessly on so many levels. Alex’s debut EP was released through Copenhagen Records in February and has already topped the iTunes Charts in several European counties. The lead track ‘Shackled Up’ was instantly picked by Spotify for its New Music Friday (USA), New Music Friday (UK) and New Music Friday (Scandinavia) playlists and is currently clocking up 100k+ daily streams based on continuous support from Spotify who has picked Alex as spotlight artist for 2016.
The track has just recently been or is about to be serviced to radio in mainland Europe and is already reacting, having topped the airplay charts in Denmark, is currently MegaHit in Holland's 3FM and has had significant early UK support from BBC Radio 1 and Radio X. ‘Shackled Up’ was made available on Soundcloud in Jan and it is so far one of the most blogged new tracks this year with Hypem drawing an overwhelming response from the likes of Pigeons and Planes, Clash, GQ, Hilly Dilly, Line of Best Fit, Disco Naïveté, Mahogany and other high-profile tastemakers.
Alex’s European headline shows are currently selling out almost instantly and he is due to smash up the European festival circuit this Summer, including high profile slots at Roskilde (DK), Pukkelpop (BE), Northside (DK), Down The Rabbit Hole (NL) and many more..
