According to authorities, the 27-year-old man detonated a pipe bomb strapped to his body at a busy bus terminal near Time Square.
The explosion occurred at 7:30 a.m. on 42nd Street between 7th and 8th avenue.

Police identified the suspect as Akayed Ullah.
