WH Economic Adviser Shrugs Off Bitcoin's Rise

While on CBNC this week, Gary Cohn, Donald Trump's top economic adviser, was asked about bitcoin, whose price has skyrocketed this year. Cohn simply shrugged, telling Jim Cramer, "I'm going to leave that to you. You're the expert today." While later talking with Bloomberg TV, Cohn said the Trump administration is keeping an eye on bitcoin and its "evolving market." However, he then added that the cryptocurrency's recent surge in price was not a significant economic threat.
