On Sunday, U.S. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said that he is optimistic the Senate and House of Representatives will reach a conference agreement on tax legislation. The Kentucky Republican told ABC’s “This Week” program, “We’ll be able to get to an agreement in the conference. I‘m very optimistic about it." The U.S. Senate narrowly approved a tax overhaul on Saturday, taking a big step closer to their goal of slashing taxes for businesses and the rich.
