The House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi, called on Rep. John Conyers from Michigan to resign on Thursday. In response to multiple sexual harassment allegations against the 88 year-old-lawmaker, Pelosi told reporters on Capitol Hill "I pray for Congressman Conyers and his family and wish them well. However, Congressman Conyers should resign." Earlier this week Pelosi defended Conyers by calling him an “icon”. She later said that she believed Melanie Sloan who has publicly accused Conyers of becoming increasingly abusive while she worked for him from 1995 to 1998.
