Who’s smarter,
dogs or cats? Scientists have finally given an answer to the long-standing question. A study led by a Vanderbilt University professor counted the number of cortical neurons in the brains of cats and dogs. The results? Canines had a significantly higher number than felines. More specifically, dogs have about 530 million cortical neurons, while cats have less than half that, coming in with 250 million. To put it in perspective, humans have around 16 billion. Professor Herculano-Houzel explained End of discussion!
