From Puppy to a Diabetic Alert Dog

8000 children in Sweden are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Nike was diagnosed at the age of 2 and is today 8 years old.
To increase the safety of Nikes everyday life, 24 hours a day, the family has decided to get & train a diabetic-alert dog. The Irish Setter called Molly is trained to work for Nike but to alert her parents & other persons close to her.
This project is done in collaboration with Mars-Pedigree, Swedish Diabetes Association, SoS- Swedish Service and Hearing Association (members of Assistance Dogs Europe) and Lunds Animal Hospital.
