Uber admits 2.7 M people in U.K. affected by hack

Uber revealed 57 million people worldwide were affected by a 2016 hack that they covered up. Now, the ride-hailing service revealed that 2.7 million people in the U.K. were targeted. "This latest shocking development about Uber will alarm millions of Londoners whose personal data could have been stolen by criminals." Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London Uber added that investigators believe financial information was not at risk. “When this happened, we took immediate steps to secure the data, shut down further unauthorized access, and strengthen our data security.” Uber statement
