The USS Fitzgerald was damaged in a collision this summer.
The ship scheduled to return to the US for repairs aboard a commercial vessel.
The Fitzgerald sustained more damage while being loaded on to the transport vessel.
It will take several days to repair the new damage.
Until then, the Fitzgerald will remain stationary until it can be loaded again for its trip home.
