Indian skipper Virat Kohli was rested for the 3 match ODI series against Sri Lanka, in his place Rohit Sharma will be leading the team. Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Sidharth Kaul, on the other hand, has received his maiden call-up to the India squad for the three-match series. Chief selector MSK Prasad had said that Kohli had made himself available for selection for all the three Test matches and only after that would the selectors look at resting the captain. On the eve of the 1st Test, Kohli had said that he will ask for rest when required,

"Definitely I do need rest, why don't I need rest? When I think of the time my body should be rested, I'll ask for it. I am not a robot you can slice my skin and check I bleed," Kohli told reporters on the eve of India's first Test against Sri Lanka. India defeated Sri Lanka in the 2nd test match at Nagpur and now has taken a lead of 1-0 in the 3 match series.
