President Trump on Thanksgiving morning responded to a tweet posted by Greg Sargent, a Washington Post opinion writer, who had recently written an op-ed slamming Trump over his ongoing feud with LaVar Ball, the father of one of the three UCLA basketball players detained in and ultimately released from China.

Trump wrote, "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN."
Both the acknowledgment and the comment are a bit odd, as in posting a link to the piece, Sargent wrote on Twitter, "Trump's rage-tweets about LaVar Ball are part of a pattern. Trump regularly attacks high-profile African Americans to feed his supporters' belief that the system is rigged for minorities."
It is unclear if Trump's message was meant as support for Sargent's case or as a rallying cry against it.
There's also a possibility that the president's response was entirely inadvertent, according to CBS News.
Notably, he soon after sent out a separate and untethered "MAGA" tweet.
As for the Trump-LaVar Ball feud, it began when Ball questioned whether Trump had been instrumental in getting his son, who had been accused of shoplifting, out of China.
Trump has since made numerous tweets regarding his efforts and Ball's lack of gratitude.
