They were one of the thousands of participants in the Festival; they stated that being able to contribute to the Festival and the people of Morocco was a big experience for them. It gives them a satisfying feeling that they were able to do something ethically and beneficial for them and others. The Festival was a big success thanks to the efforts of the participants and the Moroccan Association of Ibn Battuta under the guidance of their Honorary President Mr. Mohamed Dekkak. The Festival of Ibn Battuta was able to convey tourism and its positive benefits throughout Morocco. Mr. Mohamed Dekkak said that “Peace can only be achieved by having an understanding hearts.” And by traveling, people will be able to understand each other that can increase their tolerance due to understanding the different perspective of the people that will eventually lead to peace prosperity and conflict avoidance.
International Festival of Ibn Battuta

The Festival of Ibn Battuta was made by the Moroccan Association of Ibn Battuta for all of the people, and with this event, people will be able to learn different things, such as the eventful life of the greatness Muslim traveler of time, how traveling can help in spreading peace and tolerance globally, and more. The Festival was held on the date of November 9-12 2017 in the Beautiful city of Tangier, Morocco, where Ibn Battuta came from and started his exciting journey that is full of surprises and lessons that people can pick up and use in their lives as they are one of the millions of people that are enthusiasts in traveling.

Moroccan Association of Ibn Battuta
It is the Non-Profit Association behind the International Festival of Ibn Battuta, The Association was founded on the year of 2015 by a knowledgeable people about Tourism, Cultures, Traditions and the ancient history of Morocco. It is the first Association dedicated to Ibn Battuta, They wanted to preserve the history of Morocco, by passing it down to their newer generations and foreigners, and they believed that cultural exchanges would promote peace and increase the tolerance of every individual and the barriers between different countries are lessening.
The Traveler of Islam

Ibn Battuta was born in the Beautiful city of Tangier, Morocco in the 14th Century, to be more precise on February 24, 1304. He came from a family of scholars, and that triggers the curiosity of him being a traveler when he grew up. He started traveling at the age of 21 that lasts for 3 decades, he was able to visit more than 100 countries on 3 continents. All of his encounters was written in his journal which greatly contributes to the geography and the human advancement at that time. And then after 30 years, he went back to Morocco, in his birthplace to live the remaining time of his life, and assigned by the sultan to be a judge.
