Two petitions have been filed by Angaza Empowerment Network executive director Derrick Malika Ngumu claiming deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu and Justice Isaac Lenaola were in contacts with lawyers representing Raila Odinga during the presidential petition. Ngumu is accusing the two judges of gross misconduct with evidence of phone records and secret meetings. He alleges that the meetings were facilitated by Emmanuel Wetangula, nephew of Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula.
