FCC to Vote on Net Neutrality Repeal in December

On December 14, the FCC will vote on new rules that will repeal net neutrality regulations originally put in place back in 2015. Opponents of the decision say getting rid of net neutrality will allow internet providers and telecom corporations to provide preferential treatment for traffic, stifling innovation and competition. FCC chairman Ajit Pai has said that repealing net neutrality would be good for consumers because it will allow for more investments from telecommunication companies. According to reports, the FCC's draft order of new rules will require ISPs and telecom companies to be transparent about offerings instead of being regulated by the FCC.
