Family Rescued From Flaming Boat by Key West Express Ferry

Frank Klaput was on board the Key West Express as it was traveling between Fort Myers and Key West, Florida, on November 20, when the crew spotted a family swimming for their lives after their boat caught fire.“You could see the flames and everything coming out. It looked like an engine fire,” Klaput described to NBC-2. The family swam towards the boat while holding on to a crab trap buoy. The Key West Express crew managed to pull them on board.Jeremy Reed was part of the Key West Express crew who assisted the family, he was on his way to Key West with his own family when they received the distress call.
