At a town hall in Staten Island, New York, high school student Gisele Mendez confronted Rep. Dan Donovan over proposed legislation for recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. Donovan refused to say whether or not he supports a “clean” bill for DACA recipients — one that would ensure the legislation isn’t tied to other items that would harm children immigrants, like facing deportation or border wall funding.
