Cheteshwar Pujara slammed his 16th fifty and he stood tall on a challenging wicket in Eden Gardens Kolkata as the rest of the batsmen floundered. Suranga Lakmal was the star with 4/26 and he was given good support from Dasun Shanaka, Lahiru Gamage and Dilruwan Perera as India were bowled out for 172 on day 3 of the Kolkata Test. Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck early for India but Lahiru Thirimanne and Angelo Mathews scored fifties before Umesh Yadav struck twice.

टीम इंडिया को पहली पारी में 172 रन पर समेटने के बाद पहले टेस्ट के तीसरे दिन शनिवार को बल्लेबाजी करने उतरी श्रीलंका की पारी भी लड़खड़ा गई है। श्रीलंका ने 45 .4 ओवर में चार विकेट खोकर 165 रन बना लिए हैं। कप्तान दिनेश चंडीमल 6* और निरोशन डिकवेला 14* रन बनाकर क्रीज पर जमे हुए हैं। श्रीलंका ने पहली पारी में तेज शुरुआत की, लेकिन जल्द ही उसे दिमुथ करुनारत्ने (8) के रूप में पहला झटका लगा। भुवनेश्वर कुमार ने दिमुथ को LBW आउट किया। जल्द ही भुवी ने सदीरा समराविक्रमा (23) को विकेटकीपर साहा के हाथों कैच आउट कराकर श्रीलंका को दूसरा झटका दिया।
