In Chennai, a day after stating that a 28-year-old former employee of a software firm in Bengaluru could be a serial rapist with crimes against up to 50 women, the city police registered the first formal case of sexual assault against the suspect. On a complaint, the Velachery police charged Madhan Arivalagan with rape. Police officers says they were, on request, keeping details about the complainant confidential.
