The 6 Hours of the Americas had the American crowd on the edge of its seat with Toyota pushing Audi all the way to the chequered flag but unable to prevent championship leaders Allan McNish, Loic Duval and Tom Kristensen claiming their first win since lifting the ultimate trophy at the 24 Heures du Mans.

It was two wins on the bounce for the G-Drive Racing trio of Mike Conway, Roman Rusinov and John Martin in a race that saw competition from the two Oak Racing Morgans, which ended in disaster for the French team when the two teammates collided.

In LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am it was a great day for Aston Martin, who turned the tables on Ferrari and Porsche to take the wins in both classes. Bruno Senna and Fred Makowiecki celebrated in the LMGTE Pro class, finishing ahead of the two AF Corse Ferraris. Jamie Campbell-Walter and Stuart Hall added a second win to the one in Sao Paulo in an Aston Martin 1-2 in LMGTE Am.
