How One Artist Turned Paper Into Surreal, Mind-Bending Rocks

Song Kang is an Illustrator based in Portland, Oregon who combines her interests in organic forms and textural details to create dreamlike images. Song graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration. Her latest series called, "Carved in Stone" uses foam, plaster, and paper mache to make chiseled "rocks" that resemble a wide range of mind-bending scenes. Kang also has another series called "Vernacular" that celebrates humanity's ability to build.
