Mattel and Hasbro could be nearing merger

Toy giants Mattel and Hasbro are reportedly heading towards a merger. It was reported by The Wall Street Journal last week that Hasbro had proposed the purchase and since the new broke, Mattel has seen an increase in its average share price, rising 21 percent to $17.65. Many speculate that the merger talks are a result of tech products rising in popularity instead traditional toys.
