Cutting edge tech helps firm deliver ahead of China Singles' Day

Video from China of a so-called intelligent sorting system operated by an express delivery company that processes 72,000 packages an hour.

The footage, shot in Wuxi City in eastern-central Jiangsu Province on November 2, shows packages at ZTO Express on a 300-metre-long conveyor belt being sorted without a human in sight.

The efficiency of the system is three times higher than sorting by human hand, according to reports.

The video emerged in the days ahead of China's Singles' Day, which started out as a day to celebrate singletons but has now become more of an online retail event.
