Maternity Shoot After Infant Loss

According to The Huffington Post, a rainbow baby is a term used for a child born to mother who "experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss." In honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month in October, photographer JoAnn Marrero took pictures of eight women who triumphed loss and are now expecting rainbow babies. She says that she wants to shine light on grief and healing, hoping that it will inspire others. JoAnn told the Huff Post, "We must remember and celebrate the beautiful souls that we grieve for so deeply, yet we must stand tall, be brave and look ahead to the beauty the future will bring.”
