Controversial Tipu Jayanti celebrations were held across Karnataka amidst minor protests om Friday. While preventive arrests were made in Mangaluru, protesters were detained in Kodagu. The police maintained that the situation was under control. Tipu sultan united front celebrated Tipu Jayanti in Bengaluru outside his palace. A kid dressed up as Tipu remained the star attraction. Members of the forum accused the BJP of politicizing Tipu Jayanti and maintaining dual standards. Heavy police deployment was witnessed at places of importance associated with Tipu Sultan like his memorial and forts. Minor protests were also witnessed in North Karnataka.
