It has been a year since the election of Donald Trump, and a recent POLITICO/Morning Consult poll paints a picture of where he stands with his voters.
Of the 1,990 questioned between October 26 and 30, 82% of self-identified Trump backers said that if given a do-over their vote in the last election would remain the same.
However, in a proposed 2020 race between the president and an unspecified Democrat, support for Trump among that group dropped to 76%. 8% opted for the Democrat.
"Overall, among all voters, a generic, unnamed Democrat leads Trump, 46 percent to 36 percent, with 18 percent undecided," according to Politico.
The poll results come as President Trump's job approval ratings dip into historic lows.
According to NPR, he now stands at an average of 39%, having experienced a dip down to roughly 37% and a high of about 46%
Despite the worrisome numbers, President Trump celebrated the anniversary of his election win with confidence.
"Congratulations to all of the 'DEPLORABLES' and the millions of people who gave us a MASSIVE (304-227) Electoral College landslide victory!" he tweeted Wednesday.
