Man almost blinded when 1,200 exploding fireworks thrown into corner shop
Terrifying CCTV footage captured the moment a man casually threw a box of lit fireworks inside a local convenience store – almost blinding a shop worker.
The box called Ammo contained 1200 rounds of fireworks – sending rockets exploding through the shop with staff members inside.
Immediately after throwing the fireworks into the doorway of the Go Local Extra in Bootle, Merseyside, the terrifying explosions began.
Staff – who were inside the shop when it happened at around 8.40pm on Bonfire Night – can be seen desperately trying to escape the explosions.
One worker, Sanjaya Wickramage, 43, was hit in the eye by a rocket as he tried to extinguish the box.
