Death toll rises as Typhoon Damrey lashes Vietnam

Dozens of people have been killed and many are missing after Typhoon Damrey made landfall in Central and Southern Vietnam on Saturday, lashing the eastern Asian country with winds of up to 90 km/h.
The Vietnamese government said the death toll had risen to 49 on Monday, and that some 2,000 homes had been flattened by the storm.

Tourists stranded in Vietnam’s resort city of Hoi An were rescued by boats as flooding caused by the typhoon turned roads into rivers.
Soldiers and local residents in Danang have been called upon to aid the clean up as the coastal town awaits the arrival of world leaders for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
