The 7th Pay Commission recommendations were hated by all Central Government employees. For them the hope lies in the month of January. The big question is will the pay hike come in January. Will the fitment factor be raised to 3 times in January. When will the NAC meet. The government is clear that the pay hike would be raised from Rs 18,000 to Rs 21,000. Employees want the hike to be at Rs 26,000. However the economy has been hit badly post GST and demonetisation. Hence there is no proposal as of now to hike the basic minimum pay to Rs 26,000. While 2017 was a bad year for the CG employees thanks to the poor recommendations made by the 7th Pay Commission, 2018 could be a better year. The government wants to give the pay hike by January, reports indicate.
