as thousands of Iranians gathered for the anniversary of the 1979 seizure of the United States Embassy.
In an address to the crowd, Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council,
denounced American foreign policy, according to Iranian state-run news outlet Press TV.
Tensions have flared in recent weeks as President Trump disavowed the Iran nuclear deal and denounced the country’s influence in the Middle East.
