Only the best water was good enough for this cat - who climbed up to pour himself a fresh cup from a dispenser.

The fussy three-year-old moggy shunned his usual bowl shared with other pets and pounced up onto the sideboard where the machine was kept.

The clever cat, named Lord, was filmed pressing his paw against the button causing a trickle of water to fill the small mug.

Naturally though, he was still dismissive and after a few sips turned up his nose to scamper away to his bed at his home neat Taipei, Taiwan.

Owner Deborah Hsieh, who filmed the scene earlier this year in April, said: ‘’My family’s cat thinks he’s ‘God’ and must drink clean water, the best water there is.

‘’He did not want to share a bowl with the other animals so it had to have its own water.

‘’This is a smart cat, sometimes I think there’s a human inside there it’s so clever. He even knew not to press the button for hot water and to stop when the cup was full before it overflowed.’'
