Considering that undetonated World War II-era explosives are still found in parts of Europe, it makes sense that residents are sensitive to suspicious-looking objects. But a recent sighting led police in Germany to converge on a find which was far less dangerous--zucchini.

Considering that undetonated World War II-era explosives are still found in parts of Europe, it makes sense that residents are sensitive to suspicious-looking objects.
But a recent sighting led police in Bretten, Germany to converge on a find which was far less dangerous--zucchini, reports the BBC.
The incident occurred when an 81-year-old man called the authorities after spotting what he thought was a dark, 16-inch-long bomb in his garden, notes MLive.com.
Officers investigated the 11-pound object and acknowledged its similar appearance to a bomb but ultimately determined it was a squash which had likely been tossed onto his property.
A bomb squad was not called, and the man reportedly disposed of the vegetable himself.
