President Trump has joked that his late mother would have been surprised to see him in the Oval Office.

President Trump joked on Thursday that his late mother would have been surprised to see him in the Oval Office.
He made the remark during a press conference relating to the announcement of the relocation of high-tech chip manufacturer Broadcom Limited to the U.S.
When the company's CEO Hock Tan was given an opportunity to speak, he stepped up to the podium and said, "...before I launch into something else, let me say, my mother could never have imagined that one day her son will be here in the Oval Office, in the White House, standing beside the President of the United States. Thank you."
That is when Trump, who was standing behind him, grabbed him by the shoulders and chimed in, "and my mother too."
The lighthearted comment caused the president to smile broadly while Tan and the audience laughed.
Trump's late mother Mary came to the U.S. from Scotland in 1929 and died in New York in the year 2000.
