Sam Clovis withdraws nomination for USDA chief scientist

Ex-Trump campaign official Sam Clovis is withdrawing his nomination to be the Agriculture Department's chief scientist. Clovis's decision comes just as evidence has emerged showing that he may have encouraged foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos to set up meeting with Russian officials. “[Mr. Clovis] always vigorously opposed any Russian trip for Donald Trump and/or the campaign.”
