1915. Soon after the outbreak of the “Great War” in Europe, the Turks find themselves embroiled in the world conflict. The Dardanelles straight, in Gallipoli, on the beautiful Aegan Sea, provides a crucial route for the Russian Empire fleet, and its allies France and England want to control it at all costs. Captain Salih Ekrem, an Ottoman pilot befriends a young orphan named Fuat, and vows to protect him, enlisting the help of volunteer nurse Nihal whom he met in the field. On a day of battle, having been saved from an English air-raid with the help of Captain Salih, young Fuat takes shelter with Nihal, thus bringing Salih and Nihal closer together. \r
