On Saturday, dozens of white nationalists descended on Shelbyville, Tennessee, for a “White Lives Matter” rally. The event was organized by the Nationalist Front, which is the largest coalition of white nationalist and neo-Nazi groups in the U.S. Rally attendees shouted “blood and soil” and “Jews will not replace us.” Rather than respond with vitriol and hate, counterprotesters used humor to drown out the rally attendees, blasting La Bamba and Beyoncé on loudspeakers. Rally organizers ended up canceling a planned rally in a nearby city.
