Pre-flight preparations

38-year-old Tom Morgan spent two days filling the balloons with helium before taking off.

He reached a height of two and a half kilometres with his improvised aircraft.

After two and a half hours in the air, he landed 24 kilometres away near Johannesburg Airport.
