India defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets in the 2nd ODI match leveling the series 1-1. Kiwis won the toss and elected to bat first and posted a target of 230 runs which the host manged to chase down easily after losing just 4 wickets. Indian bowlers looked in a better form than the 1st ODI and never let the Kiwi batsman breath freely. India were in a desperate need of a win to keep the series alive and also their campaign of getting number 1 position in all the formats of the game. India lost the wicket of the Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya in the chase. Earlier the Indian bowlers restricted the the Kiwis well unlike the 1st ODI where the runs kept on flowing from the New Zealand player's bat, particularly Ross Taylor and Tom Laythem. Both teams will now clash on 29th of October at Kanpur for the series decider.
