Chile museum displays declassified CIA papers on Pinochet coup

"We didn't do it. We helped them," said the then president of the US Richard Nixon and National Security advisor Henry Kissinger, the day after the military coup which finished with Salvador Allende's democratic government the 11th September 1973. The conversation is one of several declassified documents now on display in a museum in the Chilean capital, offering insight into US involvement at the beginning of Pinochet's dictatorship.
